    Hi!   My name is Patra and I was rescued in New Rochelle. I arrived at the shelter
      when I was 6 months old. Since I had grown up on the streets, I was quite fearful of
      humans and the people here decided to keep me as a resident at this shelter. Now,
      while I am still a bit skittish, I warm up nicely once I get to know you. I am full of
      curiosity and I absolutely love to play. I will make you smile as I look up
      at you with my wide-eyed innocence. I will let you to pet me as long as you are
      gentle, but I am not what you would call a lap cat. Living in one of the shelter's cat rooms,
      I have become very comfortable around other cats, however I still am fairly independent.
      The folks here feel that I can only make a limited amount of progress in a shelter
      environment. What I really need  is the comfort and security of a real home with
      someone I can learn to trust.
