Hi!
My name is Joey and I am a neutered male adult Shepherd/Doberman mix
who was bewildered and very much alone when found wandering on a
street in Pelham. Luckily for me, a kind, good Samaritan brought me
to the shelter with the hopes that either my owner would show up and
claim me, or that I would be soon adopted. Well, to make a long
story short, I guess it was an "out of sight... out of mind kind" of
thing, because my owner never came and here I am waiting for the
right someone to come along. My home is gone, my confidence is gone,
and everything in my life that I grew up with is no longer mine. It
took me a little while to get used to the surroundings here (quite
different from my former home), but the staff and volunteers have
done their best to make me feel comfortable and happy once again.
Did I say "happy"? Well, that will really only happen when my new
owner takes me home. Here I sit, in my kennel, waiting and watching
the people as they look inside my cage and then pass by. I want them
to take me out, see how really sweet I am, and then make me part of
their family. Do you think this will ever happen? I hope so. I have
only one photo here to show you that I am a dog who is on the large
size...not huge, mind you, but not a pocket puppy either. I am
housetrained and have a very low key disposition. Please look deep
into your heart and see if there is a small place for me there. I
promise I will be loyal to you forever.
