A teddy bear dog..

A gentle giant...
    Presenting............
                              Andre

Hi!  My name is Andre  and I am a young neutered male French Mastiff who is looking for a new, loving home that I can call my own. I was recently transferred from another shelter in Westchester because the folks there thought I would have a better chance of finding a good home here. My "tail" is a sad one...and one that I can't quite understand. I was abandoned in a park.  Yes...abandoned...just left there to fend for myself. I might be a big dog, but even large dogs need owners to help them out and keep them alive. Perhaps my previous owners just couldn't deal with having a pet that was my size and they thought someone would see me and take me home. However, that was not the case. I wasn't brought to someone's home...I was taken to a shelter to start my life all over again. Why anyone would ever leave a gentle giant like me, is a question nobody will be able to answer. I do not have a know-it-all disposition that people think large dogs have. I am somewhat insecure and in need of a gentle, understanding owner who will give me the confidence that I once had, but lost. I was found with another dog, but  a slow, careful introduction to new canine friends when I meet them would be best. Please consider me when you come to the shelter to adopt a dog. I am a teddy bear at heart and will be a faithful friend for the person who adopts me.
